Bend home prices descend from summer peak

Bend area home prices continued to slip from summer’s peak in September, according to the latest report from Beacon Appraisal Group in Redmond.
The median sale price of a single-family home was $425,000, the Beacon Report stated. The September median price was 5 percent lower than the most recent peak, $449,000, reported in June, the report showed.

Last month’s median price was down slightly from August but still higher than September 2017, which was $418,000.
There were 195 single-family homes sold in the Bend area last month, and they spent an average 78 days on the market.
In Redmond, prices reached a new high for the area. The median price in September was $310,000, up slightly from $307,000 in August and 8 percent higher than $287,000 in September 2017.
The Redmond area saw 88 homes sold in September, and they spent an average 70 days on the market.
