Registration open for Jingle Bell Run — Runners and walkers can sign up now for the 2018 Jingle Bell Run in Bend. The 27th running of the event is set for Dec. 1 starting at 10 a.m. and kicks off the annual Christmas parade in downtown Bend. The Jingle Bell Run is part of a nationwide series of 5-kilometer events raising money for the Arthritis Foundation. Registration is available online at JBR.org/Bend. New this year, organizers are offering a $5 discount on entry fees at a special registration opportunity from 10 a.m. until noon on Oct. 27 at FootZone in Bend. The Jingle Bell Run includes a 5K run and walk, a 1-mile walk and a race for kids. Participants are encouraged to dress in holiday-themed attire. Dogs on a leash and runners/walkers with strollers are welcome. According to race organizers, 100 percent of registration fees goes to support the Arthritis Foundation. COCC romps past Willamette — Skyler Paulson scored 18 points Saturday to lead Central Oregon Community College to a 43-19 home win over Willamette University in a Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference match. Zach Ferguson scored two tries for 10 points for the Bobcats, and Cole Powell, Gary Jacques and Clayton Mears each added a five-point try. Now 2-0, the Bobcats travel to Washington next weekend for a Saturday match with Seattle University and a Sunday match against Saint Martin’s University in Lacey.
