Henry Warren Regnier, age 90, of Prineville, Oregon, was born February 9, 1928, in Kennewick, Washington, and passed away October 21, 2018. Henry loved his family and the great outdoors and was a devoted Christian. He grew up on a small farm in Washington state. At 17, Henry and his twin brother, Roy, joined the US Marines on October 9, 1945. Henry was an Aviation Aircraft mechanic. He served in Oahu, Hawaii, Okinawa, Shima, Ryukyu Islands, and Tsing, China. He kept war planes flying for 4 years, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant on October 9, 1949. Henry worked for the US Forest Service from 1950 to 1976, and lived in Crescent, Bend, and Lakeview, Oregon. In 1977, he retired from the Forest Service and worked for the Southern Oregon Log Scalers Association where he scaled logs in Chiloquin and Burns, Oregon. In 1978, he moved to Prineville, and scaled at Hudspeth, Consolidated Pine, and Ochoco Lumber. He retired in December of 1989. Henry’s hobbies he shared with his loving wife, Ruth of 56 years of marriage, were rock-hounding, camping and hunting. Henry was crew chief for his 9-year-old grandson, Warren for ½ scale Junior Dragsters in 1994 at the Madras Dragstrip and helped his grandson, Warren, and son, David Tyler, to win multiple championships thru 2014, when he could no longer come because of health reasons. Henry was a role model for his family, and was a very caring and giving person. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, 92, of Prineville, his son, David Tyler and daughter-in-law, JoAnn, grandaughter, Kimberly Parris, grandson, Warren – all of Bend, and five great-grandchildren.
