Wirth

Gary and Carolyn (Oliver) Wirth, of Bend, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 21-28 with a cruise on the Mississippi from New Orleans to Memphis.

The couple were married Nov. 9, 1968 in Monterey Park, California. They have one son, Chris, of Garden Grove, California, and one grandchild.

Both were born in California and attended the same school, but did not meet until years later when, after being discharged from the Army in June of 1967, Mr. Wirth joined a mixed bowling league and met Carolyn. The couple lived in Huntington Beach for 38 years.

Mr. Wirth retired from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in 1998. Mrs. Wirth retired from Valvoline Oil in 1970 and from Vons Market in 2004. They both enjoy fishing, volunteering at St. Charles and bowling.

They have lived in Bend for 12 years.
