Gerald Albert Jerry George, 82, passed away November 1, 2018, at his home in Redmond. Jerry was born June 18, 1936, at his grandmother’s home in Yamhill, OR, to Skinny and Dode George.
Jerry enlisted into the US Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Jerry married Caroline on September 5, 1974. He was a log hauler for Coos Trucking, Bump Stafford, and Rodney Smith Loggers. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and made many beautiful clocks. He loved going hunting with friends for the social part and not to shoot animals.
Jerry was a beloved husband, grandfather, papa and da.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Caroline; children, Sheri Helmer, Stacey George, Mark George, Karen Boatwright all of Salem, Ron Mullen of Spokane, Laura Lee Ferguson of Arizona, and Samantha Kay Lyman of Conrad, MT; grandchildren, Shay Helmer, Nicole York, Debbie George, Clay George, Dagny George, Nikita George, Pamela Boatwright, Brice Boatwright, Zack Mullen, Sherman Mullen, Caroline Mullen, Brian Ferguson, Megan Ferguson, Nathan Ferguson, Luke Lyman, and Sage Green; numerous great grandchildren; beloved adopted daughters, Lynne’ George, Monica Mullen, and Nola Slavey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack George; and his daughter, Mandi Marie George-Gregg.
Other than the Air Force, Jerry lived and worked all his life in his beloved state of Oregon.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 7, at 12 noon at Redmond Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion in Redmond.
