May 18, 1946 – October 29, 2018

Hi, Jim Payne here. Just wanted to let you all know that I’m peacefully in heaven sailing with the Lord. I passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 with my family by my side.

I was born May 18, 1946 in Springfield, OH. I lived a long and fulfilling life with many adventures. I received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Sinclair Community College in 1981. I relocated with an amazing job offer to California, working at IBM. I stayed with IBM for 27 years. I retired in 2006 and moved closer to family in Bend, OR. Living in Central Oregon gave me the opportunity to enjoy my life’s passions. Some of my most favorite hobbies included hiking, traveling, fishing, sailing, my church, photography and volunteering in my community.

I am survived by my three children: Allyn Payne, Jeremy Payne (Daydra) and Margaret Lowe (Travis). Grandchildren: Kaelynn Lowe, Hayden Lowe, Shayla Lowe, Lindsey Payne and Lauren Payne. My beloved dogs, Fritz and Bella. Surviving siblings: sisters, Becky Townsend, Dori Kennedy, Debbie Tamborini and brothers, Danny Payne and Don Pitzer. I was preceded in death by my father, James Payne, mother, Bonnie Payne, brothers, Phil Payne and Joel Payne.

My celebration of life ceremony will be held on November 10, 2018, at 1:00 at Journey Church, 70 NW Newport Ave., Bend, OR. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Journey Church.
