San Francisco DJ Random Rab made a name for himself for performing “sunrise sets” at festivals across North America, including multiple appearances at Burning Man, and has performed before three solar eclipses, according to his biography at booking agency Madison House. One listen to his music is sufficient explanation: While still falling firmly in the realm of electronic dance, his latest album “Formless Edge” is cut from a more introspective mold than your average EDM DJ works with, blending elements of trip-hop, psychedelia and indie pop. Random Rab will bring the support tour for that album to Volcanic Theatre Pub on Thursday, with local DJ Bassmint set to open.
