Jeanette Pilak retiring — Jeanette Pilak, Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show’s director since 2013, has announced her impending retirement, effective Dec. 31. Pilak took over directing duties in 2013, leading the world’s largest outdoor quilt show through five successful iterations. In a press announcement, Pilak noted her intention to assist the board in its search for her successor, an effort that will begin in January. Jean Wells Keenan, the show’s founder and a board member, was quoted as saying, “We are so appreciative of Jeanette’s work in serving as the face of the quilt show in the community these past years, and all that she has done to help develop Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show as a nonprofit organization.” The 44th annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is slated for July 13.
