A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):
Wednesday
NBA basketball, Portland at Los Angeles Lakers, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN): The Trail Blazers’ third meeting with the Lakers already this season kicks off a six-game road trip that continues Friday at Minnesota and Sunday at Washington. Portland has won seven of eight after beating Boston on Sunday night 100-94 for the Blazers’ fourth straight victory.
Thursday
NFL football, Green Bay at Seattle, 5:20 p.m. (Fox, NFL Network): These two perennial NFC contenders are struggling to stay relevant and in the playoff picture, making this a key game for both Mike McCarthy’s Packers and Pete Carroll’s Seahawks. It’s a prime-time matchup of Super Bowl champion QBs: Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers vs. Seattle’s Russell Wilson.
Saturday
Running, Central Oregon Community College Turkey Trot in Bend, 10 a.m.: This 19th annual pre-Thanksgiving event is a 3-mile run/walk starting on the track at the COCC campus. Proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go to the Central Oregon College Foundation. Day-of-race registration will take place at COCC’s Mazama Gym starting at 9 a.m.
Saturday
College football, Oregon State at Washington, 1:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Network); Arizona State at Oregon, 7:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Network): Increasingly disappointing seasons can brighten this week for the Beavers and the Ducks. OSU closes its road slate against the Huskies, while Oregon takes on the Sun Devils in its 2018 home finale. The Civil War is Friday, Nov. 23, in Corvallis.
Sunday
Auto racing, Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, Florida, 11:30 a.m. (NBC): The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series finale takes place at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where the 2018 series champion will be crowned. The Championship 4 consists of the Big Three of Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and reigning series champion Martin Truex Jr., along with Joey Logano.
