Horseshoes & Hand Grenades kick off Apres Ski Bash shows

Strings and things are on the musical menu for the first Apres Ski Bash of the 2018-19 winter season Friday at Crow’s Feet Commons. Wisconsin quintet Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, which opened for the Kitchen Dwellers at the Domino Room roughly a year ago, will return to headline, this time with new material. Its fourth studio album, February’s “The Ode,” was produced by Trampled By Turtles frontman Dave Simonett and progresses the band’s ’grassy jams in subtle ways, from the swelling saxophones on “Steer True” to the acoustic, pop-leaning “Millennial Girl.”

The monthly, free concert series will run through April and features a wide variety of music. Check out who else is coming below:

Dec. 14 — The Drunken Hearts (Americana/rock)

Jan. 18 — Dirty Revival (funk/soul)

Feb. 22 — Sophistafunk (funk/hip-hop/dance)

March 22 — Yak Attack (jamtronica)

April 19 — Andy Frasco & The U.N. (blues-rock)

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades: 6:30 p.m. Friday; free; Crow’s Feet Commons, 875 NW Brooks St., Bend; parallel44presents.com or 541-728-0066.
