Kim Porter, 47: A former model and occasional actress who was Sean “Diddy” Combs’ on-and-off longtime girlfriend and the mother of three of his children. Died Thursday in Los Angeles.

Herbert Fingarette, 97: A contrarian philosopher who defined heavy drinking as willful behavior. Died of heart failure on Nov. 2 in Berkeley, California.
