Mt. Bachelor ski area will open on Saturday, offering one lift for alpine skiing and snowboarding and several groomed trails for nordic skiing. The ski area had 12 inches of snow midmountain as of Friday afternoon, with more in the forecast.

With 9 inches of snow over a 24-hour period and more potentially on the way, the resort will operate the Sunshine Accelerator lift, which serves an easy slope and a mini terrain park, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lift tickets will cost $34 if purchased online and $44 if purchased in person at Mt. Bachelor. Snowblast Tubing will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a $10 walk-up ticket.

The resort will be closed Monday through Thursday next week with plans to open again on Nov. 30.
