Last week’s record: 0-2
Panthers -3
With Carolina coming home off two uninspiring performances on the road, its price has never been lower. The line indicates these teams would be a pick ‘em on a neutral site, and that just is not the case. Both squads are different teams at home versus on the road, and with the Panthers (this season) this is especially true. Michael Lombardi of The Athletic always emphasizes how bad offensive lines don’t travel. While the Seahawks line has improved, I still wouldn’t call them “good.” I like the Panthers — playing to keep pace in the NFC playoff race — to finally put a good game together.
Raiders +10 1⁄2
I have absolutely no useful insight to offer when it comes to the Raiders. The Ravens are one of the better home teams in the NFL, and the Raiders are the worst team in the league. However, there is no way I am taking the side of any team giving more than 10 points with a rookie quarterback.
Buccaneers -3
49ers quarterback Nick Mullens has definitely had some encouraging moments since taking over as the starter. When he has struggled, however, it has been when the defense puts pressure on him and forces him to play fast. The Tampa Bay defense is terrible, however the one thing they do consistently is disrupt the quarterback. As long as the Bucs offense can take care of the football, they have enough weapons to outgun the 49ers if the game goes in that direction.
