All right, so you’re not interested in Christmas music. May we interest you in some deathcore instead? Knoxville, Tennesee, six-piece Whitechapel will make its Bend debut at the Domino Room on Sunday alongside fellow metal groups Chelsea Grin, Oceano and Slaughter to Prevail. Beginning life in 2006 with a preoccupation with Jack the Ripper (as evidenced by the name and its debut concept album, “The Somatic Defilement”), the band came into its own on 2008 sophomore album “This is Exile,” which sharpened its detuned guitar attack while delving into political and religious criticism.
That album turns 10 this year, and the band is on the road celebrating before launching its seventh studio album, “The Valley,” early next year.
Whitechapel, with Chelsea Grin, Oceano, Slaughter to Prevail: 6 p.m. Sunday; $20 plus fees in advance, $25 at the door; Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; redlightpro.com or 541-408-4329.
