First Friday Gallery Walk — First Friday returns for its final 2018 installment this week. Galleries and cafes in downtown Bend and the Old Mill District will stay open late to hold art receptions offering drinks, appetizers, music and merriment. Here’s but a small glimpse of what’s in store:

• Peterson/Roth Gallery, 206 NW Oregon Ave., will celebrate its second anniversary with the “Small Holiday Works” show, where you can pick up a little something by one of the gallery’s artists from 5 to 9 p.m.

• Franklin Crossing, 550 NW Franklin Ave., will host from 5 to 8 p.m. a reception for “Visions of Hope,” an exhibit of artwork by inmates of Oregon correctional institutions. Also an organization, Visions of Hope “collects and sells paintings, jewelry, crocheted hats, quilts and other items generously created by approximately 80 women and men inmates from correctional institutions statewide as a fundraiser,” according to a press release. Sales from the exhibit benefit Ugandan orphans of the Otino Waa Children’s Village.

• Red Chair Gallery, 103 NW Oregon Ave., will host a reception from 5 to 8:30 p.m. for a show of new works by three of its members: porcelain ceramicist Linda Heisserman, encaustic painter Janice Rhodes and fiber artist Tricia Biesmann.

• The Environmental Center, 16 NW Kansas Ave., will feature from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. a one-night show of sculptures and wall hangings made of juniper and red willow by artist Ted Gladu.
