The Shopko in Bend will close by April 15, the Wisconsin-based company announced Wednesday.
The struggling company sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and said it plans to close 38 more stores as part of the restructuring. Shopko has stores in Eugene and Salem, but Bend is the only Oregon store on the closure list.
Shopko has already transferred prescriptions from the Bend store to Rite-Aid.
The company said it plans to relocate more than 20 optical centers, including the one in Bend, to freestanding locations.
The optical locations will remain open as the stores close down but will be “relocated very soon to a new location,” the company stated.
The Bend Shopko building was built in 1989 on 9 acres at 60 NE Bend River Mall Ave., Deschutes County Assessor records show.
