Richard Glen Hanson of Sunriver, Oregon passed peacefully January 1, 2019 at the age of 89.

Richard was born in Duluth, Minnesota on September 23, 1929 to George Hanson and Helvie Leppa.

Richard moved from Minnesota to Oregon in 1939. He married his soulmate Alice Ham in March of 1951, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Portland, Oregon.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Deborah (Bill) Slater, Sharon (Robert) Fay, Renee (Rich) Bumblis and Brian (Regina) Hanson; eight grandchildren, Neil Kern, Morgan Kern, Landon Clark, Justin Slater, Sean Kern, Alicia Slater, Marcie Masood and Austin Clark; and a growing number of great-grandchildren.

Richard’s career with IBM as a regional resource manager lasted over 32 years and was followed by a wonderful retirement for more than 34 years.

Richard and Alice enjoyed traveling in their RV, water skiing, snow skiing and biking. Richard loved the outdoors and his family.
