Sunriver Brewing Co.’s first pub outside of Central Oregon will be in Eugene near the Hyatt Place hotel.
Eugene was one of three locations the brewer scouted and was selected because of strong ties to the beer consuming community, said Ryan Duley, Sunriver Brewing Co. director of sales and marketing.
“We spend a lot of time in Eugene,” Duley said. “When we’re there, we hear from people that we’d have a lot of success there. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback.”
Eugene already has 15 breweries, according to the Oregon Brewers Guild website. By comparison Bend has 24 breweries.
Sunriver will open a full-service pub at 329 Oakway Road in mid-March in the former home of the second location of Hot Mama’s Kitchen + Bar. The brewery’s other pubs are on Galveston Avenue in Bend and in The Village at Sunriver.
The brewery produces 40 to 50 beers a year, but only four are sold year-round, Duley said. The brewing company began in 2012 and began selling beer brewed in its 12,000 square-foot production facility in Sunriver in January 2014.
