Avion Water Co. announced Thursday morning that its water is once again safe for customers to drink.
The Bend-based water provider posted a notice on its website at 6 a.m., notifying customers that a water sample tested the previous morning had passed tests, and the state of Oregon had lifted its notice asking customers living in Bend east of Knott Road and SE 15th Street to boil their water before drinking it.
Avion is asking customers in the affected area to flush out their pipes for 10 to 15 minutes to clear out any potential contaminants.
On Tuesday evening between 7:30 and 8 p.m., Avion discovered a water line break on Knott Road, just east of SE 15th Street. Avion crews fixed the leak, but due to a reduction in pressure, issued a boil water notice for the area, according to a post on the water provider’s Facebook page. Customers were advised to bring water to a rolling boil and continue boiling it for one minute before using it.
