Bend Rapids host Cascade Invitational

Weather conditions over the weekend in Bend were ideal over for almost any outdoor activity, and that included ice hockey. The Bend Rapids hosted their fourth annual Cascade Invitational tournament, which concluded its three-day run Sunday at The Pavilion. Among Sunday’s games was a matchup in the 12U division between the host Rapids and the Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds from Kirkland, Washington, which Sno-King won 11-0. The Rapids fared better in the 10U division, reaching the championship game before falling 9-3 to the Vancouver (Washington) Junior Rangers. In the 12U final, the San Jose (California) Junior Sharks beat Kent Valley Select of Washington 8-2. The tournament was the largest Cascade Invitational yet, featuring a 16-team field of teams from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California.
