Bend produced more new-business registrations per capita than any major city in Oregon in 2018, according to EagerLaw PC.
The Bend law firm compiles Oregon Secretary of State new business registrations and issues the monthly Bend Entrepreneur Report. There were 3,530 new businesses registered in Bend, up 8 percent from 3,267 in 2017, according to EagerLaw.
Entrepreneurs registered one business for every 26 Bend residents, the most new-business registrations per capita of any medium or large city. Several small cities in Central Oregon had similar or higher rates of new business registrations, attorney Jeff Eager found. In Sisters and La Pine, there was one new business for every 14 residents.
