A Redmond woman seriously injured Thursday in a crash on U.S. Highway 97 in Bend died Saturday, according to the Oregon State Police.

Anita Johnson, 75, was driving a Ford Edge SUV south on the highway at about 11:45 a.m. Thursday and slowed for another vehicle when her SUV was rear-ended by a 1994 Kenworth semi-trailer loaded with gravel and driven by Chelsea Rice, 28, of Aumsville, according to an OSP investigation.

The collision sent the Ford Edge off the highway to the right and into a tree.

Johnson suffered life threatening injuries at the time and was transported to St. Charles Bend where she died from her injuries two days later, according to OSP.

Rice had minor injuries from the crash.
