IMC tournaments tip off Thursday

Tournaments replacing the weather-decimated second half of the Intermountain Conference basketball season get underway with eight games Thursday night.
In the boys bracket, No. 4 seed Redmond hosts No. 5 Crook County at 6:30 p.m., and No. 6 Ridgeview travels to No. 3 The Dalles for a 5:30 game. The Redmond-Crook County winner advances to play at top-seeded Hood River Valley on Saturday; the Ridgeview-The Dalles winner advances to play at No. 2 Pendleton, also on Saturday.
In the girls bracket Thursday, No. 5 Crook County plays at No. 4 The Dalles at 7:15 p.m., and No. 3 Pendleton entertains No. 6 Hood River Valley at 6:30 p.m. The Crook County-The Dalles winner moves on to play at No. 1 seed Redmond on Saturday; the Pendleton-Hood River Valley winner will play at No. 2 Ridgeview, also Saturday.
The tournaments continue Monday with third-place semifinal games. The championship game and third-place game are both scheduled for Tuesday. The highest seeds will host throughout the tournaments. The top IMC’s top three teams in the boys and girls tournaments automatically qualify for the OSAA Class 5A state playoffs, which begin March 1 for the boys and March 2 for the girls.
