The Brothers Reed return to Bend

Ashland-based brothers and singer-songwriters Aaron and Philip Reed — better known as the appropriately named acoustic/roots band The Brothers Reed — have been busy since dropping third album “Three” in January 2018. Stand-up bassist T.J. Eilers, who appears on all the brothers’ previous recordings, became a regular presence on the road last year. Speaking of which, the beefed-up trio made it as far as New York in 2018 while still finding time to visit Bend, a favorite spot for the Reeds to perform. This year looks to be just as busy, with a fourth album, “Caught in a Dream,” slated for release April 12. Aaron Reed teased a return to the more stripped-down, roots-oriented sound of the brothers’ debut album, 2015’s “Sick as Folk.” Fans will be able to judge for themselves soon enough: A single, “Never Mind,” will hit Spotify on March 14, Aaron said, and the trio will return to Bend to play McMenamins Old St. Francis School on Wednesday.
