RUNNING

Bend’s St. Patrick’s Day Dash canceled — The 2019 Mt. Bachelor Rotary Club St. Patrick’s Day Dash, scheduled for March 17 in Bend, has been canceled. Race officials cited safety and weather concerns as considerations in calling off the annual 5-kilometer run, which is a fundraiser for the Family Access Network. According to a release from Lay It Out Events announcing the cancellation, anyone currently registered for the St. Patrick’s Day Dash will be automatically transferred to the Salmon Run, a 5K/10K/half marathon event scheduled for April 7, also in Bend. Proceeds from registration fees paid by St. Patrick’s Day Dash entries who participate in the Salmon Run will still benefit FAN. St. Patrick’s Day Dash entries also may request a refund.
