Where to GO! in Central Oregon for barre

When it comes time to belly up to the barre, barre3 Bend ranks as the No. 1 studio to breathe, bend and balance. Rooted in three disciplines — ballet, Pilates and yoga — barre3 classes aim to build lean muscles, a strong core and long-term postural benefits. The regimen was founded by Sadie Lincoln in 2008 just over the mountains in Portland and found a strong following in Bend when the studio in the Century Center Complex off Century Drive opened in April 2009. “Our classes are welcoming, and our clientele is everywhere from 18 to 80 years old; everyone can go at their own pace and level,” said Heather Olsen, the studio’s manager and an instructor. What sets barre3 apart from other barre classes is the attention to bigger movements in addition to tiny, 1-inch increments. Barre3 Bend boasts 160 core members and sees thousands of clients throughout the year in the form of visitors and guests, Olsen said. “You’ll never take the same class twice,” Olsen said. “We’re not mean girls; you can always come sit with us.”
