After canceling her Feb. 14 Bend show due to unsafe road conditions, singer-songwriter and banjo player Kendl Winter will finally head back to the city with her other project, The Lowest Pair, for a show at Volcanic Theatre Pub on Friday. Usually a banjo-centric duo featuring Winter and fellow songwriter Palmer T. Lee, The Lowest Pair expanded its lineup for its upcoming album, as Winter revealed to GO! Magazine in February. “The last five records were just the two of us,” she said, “so we figure even if it blows people’s minds, we won’t be able to do records like that again.” While Winter and Lee will go it alone in Bend, Winter also teased a possible full-band tour in support of the album, which was produced by Bright Eyes’ Mike Mogis.
The Lowest Pair, with Pete Kartsounes: 8 p.m. Friday; $12 plus fees in advance, $15 at the door; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; volcanictheatre.com or 541-323-1881.
