La Magie Bakery & Cafe’s last day in business in downtown Bend will be Sunday.

Employees of the cafe at 949 NW Bond St. were notified Monday of the impending closure, an employee said. The employee, who will be looking for a new job, did not want to be named.

Owner Di Long did not respond to an inquiry from The Bulletin. Long decided to sell La Magie, which will be renovated as a new restaurant, because she was overloaded with baking as well as helping run Chi Chinese and Sushi Bar, the employee said. Earlier this year, La Magie’s location at 473 E. Hood St. in Sisters was converted to a pan-Asian restaurant, Bimbap.

La Magie opened in downtown Bend in 2012, according to The Bulletin archive.
