RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks have acquired tight end Jacob Hollister, a graduate of Bend’s Mountain View High School, from the New England Patriots in exchange for a conditional 2020 seventh-round draft pick.

Seattle chose not to address the tight end position in the draft last week. But the Seahawks do need depth there with Will Dissly coming off a patellar tendon tear suffered last season. The Seahawks also have tight ends Nick Vannett, the starter in 2018; veteran Ed Dickson, a former Oregon Ducks standout; and Tyrone Swoopes on the roster.

Hollister, 25, appeared in only eight games last season for New England because of injury, and he did not play in the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory over the Los Angeles Rams. He had a total of four receptions in 2018 for 52 yards.

As a rookie in 2017, Hollister played in 15 games and made four catches for 42 yards. Playing behind star veteran Rob Gronkowsi, he was primarily a special teams contributor in New England.

Hollister made two starts in his time with the Patriots, one in each season.

Hollister and his twin brother, Cody, both signed with the Patriots as undrafted free agents after the 2017 NFL draft — Jacob out of Wyoming and Cody out of Arkansas.

Cody Hollister, a wide receiver, has never played in the NFL. He currently appears on the Patriots’ roster listed on patriots.com as an exclusive-rights free agent.

With Jacob at quarterback, the Hollisters led Mountain View to the Class 5A state championship in 2011.
