Dead at the Doj returns in Bend

Dead at the Doj, the annual Grateful Dead tribute concert/benefit for the Friends of High Desert Martial Arts Athletes nonprofit, keeps on truckin’ in its fifth year. The jam-fest will return to the dojo Saturday with another lineup packed with a who’s who of Bend’s music scene, including Mark Ransom & The Mostest, which recently released “Teleport People,” its first studio album in five years; singer-songwriter Pete Kartsounes, whose most recent solo album, “I’m Alive,” dropped in the last month; G Bots & The Journeymen; and local songwriter Bill Powers (Honey Don’t, Silvertone Devils) fronting a “mystery band.” Special guests, food, beverages and an outdoor patio and fire pit will round out the evening. All proceeds will go to the Friends of High Desert Martial Arts Athletes to help fund scholarships and sponsorships for students and athletes.
