Bend-La Pine Schools will start its annual free summer meal program on Monday at six locations throughout Bend and La Pine.
All children, from babies to 18-year-olds, can grab a free lunch from Monday to Friday, and adults can buy a meal for $4. Funding for the meals comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to a press release.
The six primary locations are Al Moody Park next to Ensworth Elementary, the Downtown Bend Boys & Girls Club, R.E. Jewell Elementary School, Kiwanis Centennial Park, Pilot Butte Neighborhood Park and the La Pine Event Center. Breakfast will also be served at the La Pine location from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.
Times and dates for the six locations can be found on the Bend-La Pine Schools website. All locations will cease giving free meals in mid-August.
From August 5-15, Monday through Thursday, lunches will also served at Bend and Mountain View high schools.
