Organizers with the Pacific Crest Endurance Sports Festival report an urgent need for volunteers for this year’s event, scheduled for June 28-30 in and around Sunriver.

According to Sherri McMillan with Why Racing Events, a group of 70 volunteers for the 23rd annual Pacific Crest had to cancel, leaving organizers scrambling to find replacements. McMillan said the race is looking for groups such as schools, clubs, teams or nonprofits that would like to volunteer in return for a donation to their organization or cause. Individuals are welcome to volunteer as well.

McMillan said 800 volunteers overall help at the Pacific Crest, which includes a marathon, a half marathon, and a variety of other running and multisport races.
