Modern folk singer-songwriter Josh Ritter made his Central Oregon debut last year at Sisters High School, a fact that seemed to surprise even him given his family ties in Medford. “It’s funny how that works,” he told GO! Magazine last year. “Our band played in Houston for the first time the other night, but more and more, you get this great, long arc of experience in a place and really build up memories of each town as you travel and you accrue experience.” He’ll make another step toward building that experience in Sisters when he returns to the high school Saturday for another fundraiser with the Sisters Folk Festival organization, which launched a capital campaign last year to purchase the Sisters Art Works building. This time out Ritter will support “Fever Breaks,” his 10th studio album; the country-leaning set was recorded with help from Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, which made its own debut at Les Schwab Amphitheater earlier this month. (The Royal City Band will join Ritter once again in Sisters.)

Josh Ritter and The Royal City Band, with Slater Smith: 7 p.m. Thursday; $60, $45 or $35 plus fees in advance; Sisters High School, 1700 McKinney Butte Road, Sisters; sistersfolkfestival.org or 541-549-4979 ext. 3.
