Mississippi-born, Texas-based singer-songwriter Jason Eady will kick off McMenamins’ next Great Northwest Music Tour on Wednesday at the Old St. Francis School. The alt-country musician is on the road supporting his seventh solo album, last year’s appropriately titled “I Travel On,” his first in-studio collaboration with his touring band and featuring Sisters Folk Festival favorites Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley. Written in one month (per press materials on McMenamins’ website), the album finds Eady taking a more groove-based approach to his outlaw-country musings on middle age, love and life, and follows 2014’s breakthrough album “Daylight & Dark” and 2017’s self-titled effort. Fans of Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell (who kicked off Les Schwab Amphitheater’s season with Father John Misty last month) and their ilk will find something to love here, too.
Jason Eady: 7 p.m. Wednesday; free; McMenamins Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St., Bend; mcmenamins.com or 541-382-5174.
