Praxis Medical Group announced Wednesday it will acquire Desert Orthopedics.

Oregon’s largest independent medical group, Praxis also owns High Lakes Healthcare, Pacific Crest Neurology, Aspen Mountain Dermatology, Cascade Gastroenterology, Alpine Physical Therapy and Urology Specialists of Oregon.

The acquisition of Desert Orthopedics will close Sept. 1, said Dan McCarthy, regional administrator for Praxis. He said he does not anticipate any changes in personnel.

Desert Orthopedics has offices in east and west Bend and in Redmond.
