Bend Radio Group is back at the Century Center. The local radio collective hosted its annual summer concert series at the shopping center for years before disputes over noise issues and temporary occupancy permits came to a head in late 2017, precipitating a move to Oregon Spirit Distillers. While the main series is still at Oregon Spirit Distillers this year, Bend Radio Group will return to the Century Center on Friday for a free, one-off show tied to the annual Subaru Outside Games event and featuring Brooklyn art-pop band Rubblebucket. The group, which was last seen in Central Oregon at 10 Barrel Brewing Co.’s 10th-anniversary party in 2017, has been through a renaissance in recent years, as trumpeter Alex Toth told GO! Magazine in 2017: Toth quit drinking in 2013, while singer and saxophonist Annakalmia “Kalmia” Traver underwent chemotherapy for ovarian cancer around the same time. The duo’s latest album, last year’s “Sun Machine,” reflects on these hardships while maintaining the joyous, danceable pop mix of previous work. Portland’s The Breaking and local rapper/poet/artist Mosley Wotta will also perform.
Rubblebucket, with Mosley Wotta, The Breaking: 6 p.m. Friday, doors open at 5 p.m.; free; Century Center, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; theoutsidegames.com.
