Portland-based folk rock group The Parson Red Heads has experienced its fair share of change over its 15-year history. Forming in Eugene in 2004, the band next relocated to Los Angeles, where it recorded its first album, “King Giraffe,” before moving to Portland for album No. 2, 2011’s “Yearling.” The group, led by songwriters Evan Way and Sam Fowles, continued to pump out its brand of affable-yet-cerebral folk rock on two more albums, most recently 2017’s “Blurred Harmony”; Way also released a solo album, “Long Distance,” this year. But more change came early last year when Fowles left the group amicably. Way and company are now prepping their first album without him, which is where its four-date McMenamins tour comes in. The short run, which includes the Old St. Francis School on Wednesday, will feature a set of Way’s solo material, a set of new songs and a set of Parson Red Head classics, according to a post on the band’s Facebook page.
