A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):

Tuesday

West Coast League baseball, Portland at Bend, 6:35 p.m.: The Elks open their final home series of the season against the Pickles on the last $2 Tuesday of the summer at Genna Stadium. The Portland series runs through Thursday, then the Elks finish the season on the road with a three-game set in southwest Washington against the expansion Ridgeview Raptors.

Thursday

NFL football, New York Jets vs. New York Giants, 4 p.m. (NFL Network); Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals, 7 p.m. (NFL Network): The first full week of preseason games includes an NFL Network doubleheader, starting with the Big Apple rivalry at Met Life Stadium. Later, the Chargers kick off against the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Friday-Sunday

Soccer, Bend Premier Cup: In its 10th year, this tournament is hosted by the Bend FC Timbers and staged over two weekends at five sites on Bend’s east side. The first weekend is for “olders,” boys and girls teams ranging from U15 to U19. The following weekend will be for “youngers,” ages U10 to U14. Spectators are welcome. Saturday

Running, Haulin’ Aspen Half As, Half & Full Trail Marathon in Bend: All three courses start and finish at Wanoga Sno-park west of Bend, beginning with Central Oregon’s only full marathon run entirely on trails at 7 a.m. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m., and the Half As (6.5 miles) starts at 8:30. Sunday

Equestrian, Cascades Futurity and Aged Event in Redmond: In its second year, this cutting program features top contestants from around the West. The event gears up on Friday and Saturday before competition begins Sunday at the Deschutes County fairgrounds. The event continues through Aug. 18, and admission is free.
