A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):
Thursday
Running, Twilight 5K Run/Walk in Bend, 7 p.m.: Last year, more than 300 entries finished this annual weeknight race, which starts and finishes near the Deschutes Brewery warehouse. Post-race festivities include a beer garden, food and music. Part of race proceeds go to the Bend Ronald McDonald House. For more info, go to superfitproductions.com/races/twilight-5k-run-walk.
Thursday
NFL football, Oakland at Arizona, 5 p.m. (ESPN): The ever-dysfunctional Raiders continue to prepare for their final season in Oakland as they take on rookie quarterback Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. Murray, the first overall draft pick, completed 6 of 7 passes for 44 yards on a one-and-done drive last week in Arizona’s 17-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Friday
Baseball, Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, 5 p.m. (ESPN): A first-round game on the U.S. side of the 16-team bracket features the Sprague team from Salem that won the Oregon state title last month in Bend and on Saturday won the Northwest Regional. As Northwest champion, Sprague will take on Mid-Atlantic champ Elmora of Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Friday-Sunday
Soccer, Bend Premier Cup: The second weekend of this massive tournament features teams in the U10 to U14 divisions. In its 10th year, the Premier Cup is hosted by the Bend FC Timbers and staged over two weekends at five sites on Bend’s east side. Spectators are welcome.
