If you like your sunshine with a little more grit than what Xavier Rudd has to offer, check out Ballyhoo! and Passafire at the Domino Room on Thursday. File these guys alongside Pepper or Slightly Stoopid in the “bands tailor-made for Bend” playlist: positive outlooks galore, plenty of up-stroked reggae guitar riffs and just enough guitar distortion to work up a good head of steam while you’re feeling the irie vibes. Maryland’s Ballyhoo! brings more of a punk attitude (in sound at least) to the equation, with last year’s “Detonate” album offering rapid-fire two-step rhythms under the party-hearty lyrics. That’s not to say Georgia’s Passafire doesn’t know how to pump up the volume (check out “Drifter” from the 2017 album “Longshot”). Kash’d Out, another up-and-coming group of reggae-rockers, opens the show.

Ballyhoo! and Passafire, with Kash’d Out: 8:30 p.m. Thursday, doors open at 8 p.m.; $15 plus fees; Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; midtownbend.com, jmaxproductions.net or 541-408-4329.
