Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and longtime Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member John McEuen will bring the circle back to the Tower Theatre on Friday. Since leaving the Dirt Band for a second time in 2017, McEuen has toured with a band featuring fellow former Dirt Band members Les Thompson on bass and bouzouki and John Cable on guitar and mandolin, plus longtime collaborator Matt Cartsonis on guitar and mandola. The show focuses heavily on the Dirt Band’s generation-spanning 1972 release, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” as well as new material from McEuen’s 2016 album, “Made in Brooklyn,” and promises more spontaneity than latter-day Dirt Band sets. As McEuen told GO! Magazine last year, “I try to communicate that feeling that we’re sitting in your living room ripping off a bunch of good notes and songs that people like.” The show doubles as the 10th annual Aramark Band Together for Scholarships, with all proceeds going to fund scholarships for Central Oregon high school graduates pursuing careers in health care.

John McEuen: 6:30 p.m. Friday; $65, $55 or $45 plus fees; Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St., Bend; towertheatre.org or 541-317-0700.
