Newport-based didgeridoo builder and player and one-time Bendite Tyler Spencer will return to The Capitol on Friday to celebrate the release of his first full-length solo album since 2011, “Sonar.” In the interim between solo releases, Spencer continued work with his didgeridoo-harmonica-drums trio, Ruins of Ooah (on hiatus since 2015), collaborated with composer Daniel Licht on the soundtrack to the TV show “Dexter” and continued to refine his instrument-building skills with his business, Primaltones. “Sonar” continues Spencer’s obsession with mixing the droning Australian instrument with EDM beats while adding vocal hooks throughout, resulting in an introspective, eight-song set that often recontextualizes what modern electronica can be.

Tyler Spencer: 8 p.m. Friday; free; The Capitol, 190 NW Oregon Ave., Bend; thecapitolbend.com or 541-678-5740.
