Food: With a wide-ranging menu boasting everything from soups and salads to burritos and bowls, the only difficulty at this vegetarian and vegan-friendly eatery is making a decision. I went with the Paleo Bowl ($10). The Paleolithic diet trend peaked in 2013, but this filling bowl still satisfies: full of garlic green beans on sauteed kale with grilled chicken (or pasture-raised beef if you prefer) and something called the “Killer Green” sauce, which is just what a cave person needs. For those craving a lighter meal, chips and salsa ($2.50) or tacos (two for $8). All entrees can be made vegan.

Service: Even during a busy weekday lunch rush, the counter staff was friendly and the wait time short, food arriving eight minutes after the transaction was complete — which is important for the busy cave person.

Atmosphere: The large dining room can get drafty, but overall, this is a pretty calming space, even when crowded. Even through the lunch-rush din, we could still hear the sonorous sounds of Simon and Garfunkel coo-coo-cachooing. If you want a little sun, try the outdoor deck.
