Madras Police detectives are looking for a man who allegedly shot his girlfriend after a domestic dispute.

Troy “TJ” Minson Jr., 31, is being sought for attempted murder, police said.

About 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 28-year-old woman walked into St. Charles Madras with a gunshot wound in her right breast, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court.

Madras Police Detective Brent Schulke arrived and questioned the woman, who said she’d been shot by her boyfriend — Minson, the court document states. She said they’d been arguing on the phone when he said to meet behind the Abby’s Pizza at 1235 SW U.S. Highway 97. As she was waiting for him, he walked up and shot her, she told the detective. She said she got in “the first car she saw” and headed for the hospital.

“(The victim) told Detective Schulke she was in pain and thought she was dying while he was speaking to her,” the court document states.

She told the detective where Minson was staying, but was otherwise “short with her answers,” the court document states.

There was a bullet hole on the inside of the woman’s right breast and an exit wound on the right side of her torso near her armpit. A nurse found a small-caliber bullet with dried blood on it in the woman’s clothing as staff removed it, according to the court document.

A man who lives near the shooting location told police he saw a man in dark clothing and a hoodie walking on the east side of the old Parr Lumber building east of Highway 97 before hearing a loud noise like a car door slamming.

Police also searched a home on SE Kierra Place that Minson is associated with. He was not found, but two other men were arrested. Trever Rene Billingsley, 28, was taken into custody for an alleged outstanding warrant. Gregory Alexander Minson, 30, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Billingsley and Gregory Minson were taken to Jefferson County jail.

A warrant was issued for TJ Minson for alleged attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree assault and menacing.

He’s described as 5 feet, 7 inches and 170 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.

The victim has been released from the hospital, according to police.
