Bend’s Storch 8th in Red Bull Rampage — Bend’s Carson Storch finished eighth in the Red Bull Rampage free-ride mountain biking event Friday in Virgin, Utah. Riders were judged on tricks performed off massive ramps and drops in the Utah desert. Storch scored an 85.66 on his first run, performing a 360 off of one of the bigger drops. He blew out his rear wheel in his second run. Brandon Semenuk, of Whistler, British Columbia, won the Rampage with a best-run score of 92.33.

Youth camp Saturday in Bend — Boss Sports Performance, in partnership with the Bend Elks, will hold a youth baseball camp this Saturday at the Elks Fieldhouse at Vince Genna Stadium. One of a series of skills-specific camps, this camp will focus on defense. Camp sessions are offered for ages 8 to 10 (8:30-11 a.m.), 11 to 13 (11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.), and 14 to 18 (1:30-4 p.m.). The camp includes instruction from a number of local coaches. Cost is $135 (or $105 for those signing up for multiple camps). Bend Roughriders pull out home win — Dakota Parker scored a try as time ran out, giving the Bend Roughriders a 24-17 league victory over Boise United on Saturday at High Desert Middle School. Austin Alley led the Roughriders with two tries and two conversions; his 89-yard run opened the scoring for the host team. Boise came back to take a 17-7 lead, but Bend rallied to tie the game 17-17 before Parker’s 9-yard try won it at the finish. Jamie MacFarland also tallied a try for the Roughriders, who improved to 2-1 in league play and 5-1 overall. The Roughriders are on the road this Saturday to face Clark County (Washington) in Vancouver.
