Former Bend resident Rachel Lindgren returned to the “Jeopardy!” stage Tuesday night to compete in the popular TV quiz show’s tournament of champions. She came in second.

Lindgren, 28, stepped into the spotlight in January 2018 when she competed on “Jeopardy!” for six days straight, taking home $75,000 in the process.

Her winning streak qualified her to compete in the quarterfinals of a tournament against other champions on ABC at 7 p.m. The episode of “Jeopardy,” which tees up three contestants for a half-hour every weekday evening to answer trivia questions, was recorded mid-September in Culver City, California.

Lindgren, who recently moved to Corvallis, said the experience was equal parts fun, nerve-wracking and exhausting.

“The questions are a lot harder in the tournament,” she said Tuesday.

Before moving in mid-October, Lindgren worked as an interpreter for the Sunriver Observatory, where she taught children about astronomy. Before that, she worked as a fire lookout at the Lava Butte fire tower and as a ticket agent at Mt. Bachelor ski area.

Lindgren was also known as a trivia-night regular at The Platypus Pub, where she gathered last year with friends to watch her episodes, according to past reporting by The Bulletin.
