Singer-songwriter Sean Hayes, formerly based in San Francisco and now residing in Northern California, delivers a typically intimate mash-up of soul, R&B, folk and country on his eighth studio album, “Low Light.” Recorded at his home and in a professional studio (per his online biography), “Low Light” seethes with intensity, with songs such as “Back it Up” mixing slinky bass and organ with Hayes’ smoky vocals. Released in 2016, the album represents the latest chapter in Hayes’ 20-year music history, which has seen his songs featured on shows such as HBO’s “Bored to Death” and “Kyle XY” and collaborations with Aimee Mann, DJ Mark Farina and Ani DiFranco. Hayes will perform at the Domino Room on Saturday with one-time Bendite (now based in New Zealand) Erin Cole-Baker opening.
Sean Hayes, with Erin Cole-Baker: 8 p.m. Saturday, doors open at 7:30 p.m.; $20 plus fees in advance, $25 at the door; Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; midtownbend.com or 541-408-4329.
