Another countrified weekend is in store at the Domino Room, with two artists who are pointing the way for the genre in the 2020s and beyond.

First up is country rapper Demun Jones on Thursday, following recent shows by fellow hick-hoppers The Lacs and Yelawolf. Raised equally on Zeppelin, Sabbath, Motown, Skynyrd and N.W.A., Jones synthesizes heavy metal guitar pyrotechnics, down-home lyrics and rapid-fire wordplay into an unpredictable yet natural sound, as heard on albums such as this year’s “Demun” and his 2014, statement-of-purpose debut, “Jones County.”

Demun Jones: 7 p.m. Thursday; $20 plus fees in advance, $25 at the door

Alabama singer-songwriter JP Harris will go in a more traditional direction for his headlining set at the Domino on Sunday. A self-described “carpenter who writes country songs,” per his website, Harris hit the road after finishing eighth grade, traveling the country and working odd jobs along the way. This hard living manifests in the music, a modern take on classic honky-tonk marked by Harris’ appealing tenor.

JP Harris: 7 p.m. Sunday; $10 plus fees in advance; Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; midtownbend.com or 541-408-4329.
