TidalWave Productions, the Portland publisher that recently announced a comic book series inspired by Netflix’s “Tiger King” docuseries, has more attention-getting news with today’s press release announcing a joint venture with Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who became a household name after it was revealed that Daniels had been paid $130,000 to sign a nondisclosure agreement about an alleged affair she had with Donald Trump.
According to the TidalWave press release, the company has teamed up with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, to develop a comic book series called “Stormy Daniels: Space Force.” Here’s how the project is described in the release:
“Captain Stormy Daniels commands the Helix, a starship serving the United Republic of Earth and its leader, ‘very stable genius’ OrDon. Daniels and her crew – capitalists at heart – are for hire. It is Barbarella-meets-Star Trek-meets-Stripperalla in a racy comedy, action and adventure series starring Daniels.”
The series is created by Daniels and TidalWave Comics publisher Darren G. Davis, with art by Pablo Martinena, with special covers by Bill Walko and Agung Prabowo.
The release quotes Daniels, who says, “I have joined forces with” (TidalWave) “to create this comic and TidalWave has been so generous with allowing my input.” She adds, “I could not be happier with the outcome. Bonus is I get to add badass comic book character to my resume.”
In the release, Davis says the venture will include not just the comic book, “but a brand that will include action figures and an animated series,” to be developed by the Bohemia Group.
Daniels became famous as the story unfolded regarding an alleged affair she had with Trump in 2006. Trump has denied the relationship. As CNN reported last year, “Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, arranged the nondisclosure agreement and paid Daniels $130,000. He admitted in federal court that ‘in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office,’ he kept information that would have harmed Trump from becoming public during the 2016 election cycle. He has since said that the candidate was Trump.
Cohen has since been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to nine charges, including campaign-finance violations related to payments he arranged to silence women who claimed affairs with Trump — including Daniels. Trump has denied having affairs with the women.”
