Chicago brings its big bag of hits to Bend

- Chicago will perform Tuesday at the Athletic Club of Bend.
Chicago is one of those bands that has more songs you know than you think you do.
Maybe that’s not true if you were tuned in to what the cool cats were listening to in the early ‘70s, when the self-described “rock ‘n’ roll with horns” group started cranking out hits like “25 or 6 to 4” and “Saturday in the Park” and “If You Leave Me Now.”
Or maybe your familiarity with Chicago songs wouldn’t surprise you if you were paying attention in the 1980s, when golden-voiced Peter Cetera led the band through a series of pop chart successes such as “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” and “Hard Habit to Break” and “You’re the Inspiration” and “Look Away.”
These dudes have had a lot of big hits, is the point. And it seems likely they’ll play most of them Tuesday night at the Athletic Club of Bend’s outdoor courtyard, where you have to believe their brand of high-end pop-rock and R&B will go over well.
